Language games for kids: first words in Portuguese

Young children pick up the sounds of a new language easily when they hear it often and use it for something real. In the language school, Tuca the toucan speaks only Portuguese, and the narrator explains in English, so a child always knows what is going on.

Lessons cover colors, fruits, numbers to ten, hello and bye, please and thank you, yes and no, up and down, big and small, and little sentences like “My name is...” and “I’d like a banana, please!”. Portuguese is the first language, shown with Brazil’s flag. On the trip around the world, children also hear how to say hello in every country they meet.
